Hell’s Kitchen - Season 10 Episode 3 - Recap - 16 Chefs Compete

In last week’s two episodes, we witnessed a record in the making. Not in a good way. For the first time in the history of Hell’s Kitchen, both teams went 0 for 2 in their first two nights of dinner service. I don’t recall this happening in the earlier seasons... With two consecutive dinner services, nonetheless. Fortunately, the Blue Team rose from the ashes tonight and completed their dinner service. The Red Team, however, are still on board a sinking ship as they floundered again tonight. I have come up with a small theory. I think the Red Team members are taking turns playing the Tough Girl role. Who knew Dana could be such a witch with a B? Tonight, Robyn and Tiffany passed their Barbie Haterade Torch to Dana.

Last week, Blue Team members Tavon and Chris got the AX. In case you missed it, you can watch the first two eliminations here:

Challenge of the Day: Cook an All-American meal for 60 brand-new U.S. Citizens.

Menu:
  • Appetizer: California Cobb Salad
  • 3-Course Entree: Small Pizza, Small Burgers, Grilled Cheese Sliders
The Red Team members are: Robyn, Tiffany, Roshni, Danielle, Kimmie, Barbie, Briana, Dana, Christina. Aside from Briana and Christina, the rest of the ladies targeted Barbie for the duration of the challenge. They weren’t sure if Barbie was trying to sabotage the Red Team by handing Chef Ramsay burnt, black pizza. Barbie’s mistake didn’t cost them the challenge though.

The Blue Team members are: Don, Guy, Royce, Justin, Brian, Patrick, Clemenza. For this particular challenge, their weakest links were Royce, Clemenza, and Brian. Royce unnecessarily added mushrooms to the Cobb Salad, Clemenza handed Chef Ramsay raw pizza, and Brian handed Chef Ramsay uncooked ground beef burgers. Unfortunately, these three major errors cost them the challenge.

Result: The Red Team won since they finished serving their dishes faster than the Blue Team did. Their reward: Fly in a private, G4 jet to the San Diego Safari.

In regards to the challenges, the Blue Team are now 0 for 3. :( The Red Team, on the other hand, are 3 for 3.

Tonight’s Dinner Service: Tables filled with Firefighters and U.S. Marines await their meals.

Tonight’s Waiters:
  • Red Team: Tiffany
  • Blue Team: Don
The Red Team took another stumble. They’ve managed to dig themselves into a deeper hole. They didn’t serve a single entree in two hours of dinner service. Some mistakes from tonight: Dana put too much sauce in the spaghetti, Roshni forgot to cook the dumplings, Barbie handed Chef Ramsay raw scallops again, and Briana burnt and shrunk the cod fish. Gosh. The Red Crew are now 0 for 3 in dinner services so far. You have got to be kidding me, Red Team! Two hours in the kitchen... Not one presentable entree. This is upsetting me, for some reason. Once again, Chef Ramsay ordered them to get out, get out, and GET OUT of his kitchen. My thoughts: If the team quit arguing with each other every chance they get, I believe they could complete a dinner service one of these days. I still have hope!

The Blue Team successfully completed their first dinner service tonight. They finished serving all of their entrees and they were NOT kicked out of the kitchen. That makes them 1 for 3 in dinner services so far. Hooray! During this particular dinner service, there was a misstep: The U.S. Marines and Firefighters ordered Wellington, but Clemenza had to inform them that they were short on wellington tonight. Therefore, the Blue Team was not be able to serve anymore wellington dishes. My thoughts: I am so happy they got the wake-up call they needed. I’m definitely rooting for the Blue Crew. They are more likeable and less painful to watch as opposed to the Red Team.

Result: Tonight’s losing team was the Red Team. Two names were submitted for elimination: Briana and Barbie. Chef Ramsay, however, nominated a third person: Roshni. Out of these three ladies, Ramsay eliminated Briana.

I’m not that surprised with Briana’s elimination, but I would’ve eliminated Roshni instead. Roshni hasn’t been up to par in the kitchen. She forgot to cook the dumplings tonight, and forgetting to cook food is a big no-no. Briana left Hell’s Kitchen with a great attitude and a great outlook on her career. Never give up, Briana! The rest of ladies on the Red Team were soooo shocked that Ramsay didn’t eliminate Barbie. If only they would catch on to how producers think these days. Producers like to keep the cast members who stir up drama in the house, for as long as possible. Very simple reasoning.

I’m making a new segment for these recaps called:

Chef Ramsay’s Analogy of the Night

“It’s a bit like your brain. Not only has it shrunk, it’s disappeared!” - Chef Ramsay speaking to Briana with regards to her burning and shrinking the cod fish.

15 chefs remain. The next episode airs Tuesday, 6/12, at 8pm ET.
