Hell’s Kitchen - Season 10 Episode 10 - Recap - 11 Chefs Compete, Part 2

In last night’s episode, the Red Team’s decision to present Robyn’s Rib Eye dish instead of Kimmie’s proved to be costly. If they presented Kimmie’s Rib Eye dish instead, they would’ve won the challenge. At the end of Monday’s episode, Kimmie scalded her right hand and arm with pan grease before opening hours. It seemed like she wouldn’t be able to go back into the kitchen; but tonight, it was revealed that the medics cleared her for dinner service. This episode featured Steak Night, Family Night, and a dramatic explosion on the Red Team at Hell’s Kitchen. If you missed Episode 9, you can read my recap here.

Appetizer Service:

Children were present tonight, so the contestants cooked a mini pizza appetizer for each child.

The Red Team members are: Robyn, Tiffany, Kimmie, Barbie, Dana, Christina. The appetizer service didn’t go smoothly for the Red Team. Tiffany took too much time to cook pizza. Her excuse was that she “hates children” and she “hates cooking for children.” I don’t understand how Chef Ramsay tolerates her... I can’t stand her. When Barbie eventually took over on the pizza station, Tiffany argued with Barbie. Behind the scenes, Barbie mentioned the only thing Tiffany is passionate about is a cigarette [Here is my reaction to that statement: Ouch! ;)].

The Blue Team members are: Royce, Justin, Brian, Patrick, Clemenza. The children enjoyed eating Clemenza’s pizza. Brian spoke Spanish and also British-English (with a British accent) for the duration of the appetizer service. He likes to use voices when he is cooking. Chef Ramsay didn’t appreciate Brian’s British-English imitation, so he told Brian to be more serious in the kitchen. All in all, Brian, Justin, and Clemenza hit their stride during the appetizer service. I hope the editors feature more of Justin in the future episodes... I don’t know anything about his culinary and personal background (other than the fact that he is Season 10’s dark horse).

Entree Service:

The Red Team is still on a downward spiral. Robyn poorly sliced her hanger steak, and handed Chef Ramsay dry, undercooked fish. “I wouldn’t even feed that to my f***ing cat,” said Chef Ramsay. Then the dramatic explosion came about: Tiffany started yelling at Barbie for being a know-it-all, and Robyn & Kimmie continued to fight over the Rib Eye incident from the challenge as well as the fish incident from tonight’s entree service. Christina was upset with Tiffany, Robyn, and Kimmie for being unprofessional when there were children present. They were arguing so much that Ramsay asked the Blue Team to come over to the Red Kitchen to cook for the Red Team. The entire Red Team was kicked out of the kitchen. Dana summed it up nicely, “My team is like an anchor on a ship, and we’re just going down”; Christina said it best, “I’m ready to have that cancer [Robyn] cut from our team.”

The Blue Team got off to a rough start but dominated towards the end of tonight’s dinner service. Patrick under-seared his Rib Eye steak and he failed to correctly call out the orders for the meat station... he called out “two fillet, one hanger” when in actuality, the correct order was “three fillet, one hanger.” Ramsay kicked him out of the kitchen, but Patrick begged Ramsay for a second chance. Ramsay gave him another.... but he blew it again. After he handed Chef Ramsay raw fillet mignon, he was told to get out of the kitchen. Justin had to take over on the fillet. Royce was also kicked out of the kitchen after he handed Ramsay raw hanger steak. However, the rest of the Blue Team: Brian, Justin, and Clemenza, did such a good job finishing all of the Blue Team’s orders that they went over to the Red Kitchen to finish cooking their orders.

Result: Both teams lost tonight. Four names were submitted for elimination: Patrick and Royce (from the Blue Team), Tiffany and Robyn (from the Red Team). Chef Ramsay eliminated Patrick.

The Blue Team are now 4 for 8 in dinner services. The Red Team are also 4 for 8.

I’m 99% sure that Chef Ramsay didn’t reward the Blue Team with the victory (even though they finished dinner service) because he already had his mind made up on who he was going to eliminate. After he kicked out Patrick for the second time, Ramsay had enough. I was hoping for a double elimination though.... I would’ve eliminated Robyn and Tiffany. I want them gone. Like. Now.

The producers wanted five contestants on each team, so Chef Ramsay sent Robyn over to the Blue Team. UGH. I can’t believe she’s still in the competition.

Next week, David Beckham will be in the house! YAY! He’s looking very sexy in the video previews. I can’t wait! :D
