Helena Bonham Carter Joins HBO's Codes of Conduct

Helena Bonham Carter is taking her talents to television.

The Oscar nominee has joined Parade's End star Rebecca Hall in the cast for HBO's newest upcoming drama, Codes of Conduct. The show, centering on ambitious social climber Beverly Snow (newcomer Devon Terrell), features a pilot script written by 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen. McQueen will also direct and executive produce the pilot alongside World War Z's Michael Carnahan, making this one of the most high-profile series in development in HBO's pipeline at the moment.

Bonham Carter will play the role of Esther Kaufmann, a prominent and wealthy author/psychologist from one of Manhattan's most successful Jewish families. Meanwhile, Hall will play Rebecca Rotmensen, also the child of wealth and privilege, and someone with whom Snow will clash over the course of the season.

No word on when the series will premiere, but it stands to reason that production will begin relatively soon. At the very least, I'm hoping so, because this sounds fantastic.
