Helen Fulthorpe sings 'I'd Rather Go Blind' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)

Helen Fulthorpe sang 'I'd Rather Go Blind' on The X Factor UK 2014 Judges' Houses.

I thought Helen was way too hard on herself after this performance, breaking down in tears and saying how “awful” she was, and how out of tune her performance had been. Maybe it's because I don't have a trained ear for this sort of thing, but I thought Helen did a fine job. Granted, I'm not sure if it's enough to get her through to live shows, but I don't think Helen bombed either. She clearly has a voice, and she's great at connecting with a song and conveying the emotion behind it. I've liked Helen since her first audition, and I think viewers would like her too in Live Shows. Unfortunately, this episode ended on the cliffhanger of Helen having a panic attack while waiting to hear her fate, necessitating a medic being called. If she gets this stressed out waiting for results, I worry about how well she'd hold up in Live Shows. But I'm rooting for her all the same.

But what do you think of Helen Fulthorpe?

RESULT

HELEN FULTHORPE does not advance to Live Shows.

I was really rooting for Helen, but it just didn't come together for her. I'd have liked for her to get a spot, but I can't think of whose spot she'd have taken, considering how Simon already views the three acts he's chosen. Here's hoping we get to see her again on The X Factor stage someday. This may not have been her year, but I think she could come back again and potentially tear this competition apart.
