Heatwave has made the Associated Press stupid

I'm beginning to feel like some of those disgruntled David Archuleta fans a few years ago who refused to trust the Associated Press.
I stumbled on this news article published last Friday (which is still live btw) from the AP posted on Yahoo News.
It says:
Northeast braces for temps near boiling pointNEW YORK (AP) — The extreme heat that's been roasting the eastern U.S. is only expected to get worse, and residents are bracing themselves for temperatures near and above boiling point.
The high temperatures and smothering humidity will force up the heat indexes. Boston's 99 degrees on Friday could feel like 105 degrees; Philadelphia's 102 degrees like 114 degrees and Washington, D.C.'s 103 degrees may seem the same as a melting 116 degrees.
This would be the biggest headline of the year if it were indeed true. Because atmospheric boiling point means all the dogs in New York are going to die -- and all the water outside will literally start boiling. Unfortunately, the boiling point in Fahrenheit is 212 degrees. The temperature readings for the cities cited are in Fahrenheit (though not stated in the report).
The boiling point in Celsius however is 100 degrees.
So yeah, the Associated Press is stupid.
Disclosure: The AP are my neighbors. CJ and I walk in front of their building everyday.
