Hawaii Five-0 - Ua Hiki Mai Kapalena Pau - Recap
Just in case you're not too familiar with the evil mastermind behind Steve's distress on this show, Wo Fat is the man basically responsible for all of Steve's heartaches. His parents were both murdered and Wo Fat has been playing Steve and dangling clues about the coverup for months. He's just a bad guy that deserves a punch in the face. Things look up when Jenna Kaye returns with information that helps the team close in on Wo Fat's safehouse. They get there and get a surprise. The house was rigged with explosives and Wo Fat is not the one who is inside. Instead, it's that guy with the mullet who has been around since the first episode and just refuses to die and/or disappear.
Danny chases him into another home with a random Cockatoo and discovers a dead body inside. While he takes care of that, Steve and Chin chase after Mr. Mullet. He escapes them yet again and the gang meet outside to compare notes. That's when they notice Danny stumbling out of the house behind them. Steve immediately rushes to his aid when Danny collapses, unable to breathe. It's so scary! Danny has tears in his eyes and Steve looks terrified. You can just feel the love. Bromance! But seriously. Danny starts to convulse and they rush him to the hospital. Danny was exposed to a deadly neurological chemical weapon usually used by terrorists. Had Jenna not identified it so quickly, he would have died. Steve brings Danny's daughter to the hospital and struggles trying not to profess his love for Danno. Okay, maybe not but that's my observation and I'm sticking to it. This scene alone makes this episode.
The toxin was originally intended for the owners of the house. The man, a co partner of a multi million dollar business, was targeted for knowing about an affair his brother in law was having. The other woman, made a deal with a terrorist to take care of the guy in order to keep her affair going and get 20 grand in the process. Nice lady. In other news, Chin is caught lying about the stolen money he's been covering for his uncle. They were able to determine that the money Chin gave them was not the original money stolen. Eek.
Danno and his ex wife have been getting closer since his hospital visit. Is a reconciliation in the future? Steve won't be too happy about this. In fact, when Danno walks back in to the office after his hospital stay, Steve teases him about it. Naturally, because their bromance means so much to him. To all of our happiness, they share a huge hug before Mr. Mullet walks in to ruin the moment asking for Steve's help protecting him from Wo Fat.
Next week is the Season Finale and it looks epic. Will they finally get Wo Fat? ?
