Hawaii Five-0 - Lanakila - Recap

Our team is put to the test when a violent prisoner escapes from prison, leaving a bunch of dead bodies behind him. This man is one of the most violent we've seen so far on the show and Steve can't afford to be distracted. Steve's estranged sister comes to town but spends the majority of the episode sitting on a couch waiting for him. Their relationship isn't the best and they rarely see each other. They reunite at the end of the episode to visit their father.

The prisoner escapes with the intent of going after a young couple who recently won a million dollars on a game show. I knew that he couldn't just be after the money they won and I thought he may have known the girl before he was put away. I was close. The man of the couple is kidnapped and the girl put in the hospital. The man is a former partner of the prisoner who ran off with 5 million dollars they stole together. Now he's coming to collect.

After a quick trip to the bank, he grabs his money and runs for it. He knows what he's doing and shoots some more people on his way. No wonder he was in jail. He hijacks a tour helicopter and takes a small family hostage. The helicopter predictably runs out of gas and crashes in the jungle. He takes the family on a trek through the jungle apparently thinking he can reach the airport by foot. Steve and Chin track him before he can get very far and Steve shoots him down.

I have to say. I enjoyed seeing Daniel trek through the jungle again. I also appreciated the creepy shots of the legs and feet walking through the mud. Also, for someone who had his knee injury written into the show, I thought Scott Caan coped with it really well.
