Hawaii Five-0 - Ho'apono - Recap

A navy seal finds himself holding the weapon that killed his wife and makes a run for it. Soon he is accused of murder and chooses to take a group of tourists hostage on an old battleship. As an ex navy seal himself, Steve feels he should take this case on himself and give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He goes in alone and poses as a tourist with the help of a retired man in uniform who fought with Steve's grandfather. Steve gets himself taken hostage and tries to question the suspect about what really happened that morning.

Danno and Chin work on background information on the suspect and his murdered wife and discover he suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He could have blacked out and killed his wife without knowing it. That complicates things a bit. Kono works on spending time with the couple's daughter, who witnessed the whole thing while she was hiding under the couch. She reveals that her dad left the house and a new man came in and fought with her mother, eventually killing her. Before she could tell anything else she knows, she's kidnapped by that same man and his goons.

The man is discovered to be the daughter's real father, who came over from Russia to kidnap her and kill her mother. Once Steve finds this out, he tries to convince the suspect to let the hostages go and trust him. Naturally, the guy is hesitant and it's not long before the SWAT team shows up to mess things up. There's some gunfire, the nice old guy gets shot in the arm, and Steve knocks our suspect out of the way to save him from getting shot. The rest of the crew save his daughter before she is taken back to Russia and she gets to reunite with her dad.
