Hawaii Five-0 - Ha'i'ole - Season 2 Premiere Recap

The season premiere for Hawaii Five-0 is amazing. When it starts, Steve is still in jail and looking a little scruffy. Kono is out of jail but suspended and 5-0 doesn't even exist anymore. Chin is a Lieutenant for the police department. Thankfully, despite the scruff, Danno is obviously still in love with Steve and shows up with an old army friend in the form of John Locke! Jin and Locke reunited! Okay, okay, it's Terry O'Quinn but still. Joe White is the man that trained and taught Steve everything he knows. I'm so excited to see him with a gun in his hand again. Danno is able to make eyes for Steve because his heart has been broken a second time. Rachel is moving back in with her husband because the baby isn't Danny's. Comfort him Steve!
Chin calls out Wo Fat at the Governor's funeral and I can't help but think that was a stupid move. Brave, but stupid. Is it really a good idea to put yourself on this dude's radar? It's not any safer in prison. Steve is minding his own business, enjoying the 5 minutes of sunlight he gets per week when Victor Effing Hess shows up to shank him. And succeeds. Steve is bleeding in an ambulance somewhere and Victor is in his cell explaining to Chin and Danno that he did it to help Steve escape and kill Wo Fat personally. Basically, to save his own ass. If Steve kills Wo Fat first, he won't be able to kill Victor. LOL Steve hops out of the ambulance and rolls along the highway still bleeding and ends up in a gas station bathroom. He steals a police uniform and takes his bloody self to Max's house where he promptly passes out in the bathroom. Max, never deterred from a mangled body, is able to fix Steve in a jiffy.

Joe White (Terry O'Quinn) takes Steve and co. to see the man that originally put Steve's father up to investigating the police. They learn that Steve's father hid evidence in a locker. They find a memory card and discover that Steve's dad placed a hidden camera in her office. This could prove Steve's innocence so they go to retrieve it. With the camera in hand, the team is able to prove Steve's innocence. Unfortunately for them (and fortunately for writers of the show) the camera doesn't show Wo Fat's head.
Meanwhile, Kono is nabbed while tracking Wo Fat. Kono busts her way out of a trunk and contacts the guys to hurry up and arrest Wo Fat. When they get there, he's nowhere to be found (of COURSE) because he's off killing someone else. Who? Victor Hess. He just strolls right in to the prison and kills him. He walks right back out, practically skipping, and who is driving him home? JENNA. What the hell???? I didn't see that one coming at all. Is he blackmailing her? Does anyone else just want to strangle this guy with a sea urchin or something on the food network?
The new Governor reinstates the 5-0 taskforce with the exception of Kono. There will be new rules and the guys crossing any lines will not be tolerated. Yeah, good luck with that. Does this mean Steve won't be dangling people over buildings anymore? Steve gets an added cause for concern when Danny discovers a meeting between his father, the governor and Wo Fat on the hidden camera. Is anyone else going to miss Victor Hess popping up?
Funniest Quote of the Night:
Danny: He trained Steve.
Chin: Oh, so it's his fault?
