Hart of Dixie - Season 2 Episode 14 - Recap - Take Me Home, Country Roads

Here’s the recap for Season 2 Episode 14 of Hart of Dixie: “Take Me Home, Country Roads" on The CW!

Flu 0, Zoe Hart 1...With the flu totally out of Bluebell, Zoe (Rachel Bilson) is finally fitting in after curing the town. Much to the dismay of Brick, who has been in and out-of-town with his girlfriend Shelby. While things with the town and Zoe seem to be on the up and up, it‘s another story when it comes to she and Wade (Wilson Bethel). To rekindle things Wade suggests the two of them getting away for the weekend.

Getting time off may be a little tricky since Brick’s (Tim Matheson) birthday party is supposed to be that weekend. A party planned by his daughter’s Lemon (Jaime King) and Magnolia (Claudia Lee), and of course, Shelby (Laura Bell Bundy). In true Breeland girl fashion it’s their first instinct to come up with an evil plan to get rid of Shelby, but it turns out Lemon does have a conscious.

Someone else with a conscious running rampant these days- Annabeth (Kaitlyn Black). After her night with Lavon (Cress Williams) she has been contemplating how to tell Lemon. The two were doing a great job keeping it secret but nothing get’s past Zoe when she put two and two together, and Dr. Hart convinces her she needs to tell Lemon sooner than later.

When it comes to Bluebell there is no shortage of Breelands. Jonah Breeland, Brick’s nephew is in town on vacation for his Uncle’s birthday and is wasting no time in asking out town’s hottest women. After being turned down by Zoe he asks for Lemon’s help in getting hooked up with Annabeth. Not ready to tell Lemon about Lavon, she agrees to go on the date and it doesn’t take long for Lavon to see them. Annabeth cuts the date short to chase after him and in a moment of panic she lets it spill that Lemon still has feelings for him… whoopsies.

In a trailer in the woods, Tansy (Mircea Monroe)   has been invited to do hair at an Auto Show. Before accepting the job she has to get George (Scott Porter) to take care of her dog Dolly. Although George is not Dolly’s biggest fan, he agrees to dogsit in order to show Tansy how much he cares for her. Slight problem, he looses the dog and when Tansy comes back in a tizzy- George sets out to find Dolly and earning the trust of Tansy once and for all.

When Zoe can’t get off for the weekend Wade takes things into his own hands and asks Jonah to step in. The weekend doesn’t go as planned and Zoe makes a comment about Wade’s career choice. With things hitting a rocky spot the two head back to town. Zoe decides to head back to the doctor’s office and right into the middle of Brick’s birthday party.

Despite Lemon “2.0” being a saint these days, the same isn’t true for her little sister Magnolia. Even if Lemon isn’t going to move forward with the plan, she will. She makes a plan with Shelby to have her pop out of a cake and perform for Brick. Starting to feel the ill effects of her plan she warns Shelby it’s a bad idea. Shelby decided to go ahead with the performance anyway much to the embarrassment of the girls but the excitement of the town. And thus- Brick and Shelby’s relationship is out in the open.

After the performance Annabeth swallows her pride and tells Lemon that she has feelings for Lavon. Lemon, knowing the two of them the best, knows something has already happened between the two of them and declares their friendship over. Annabeth knows she needs to end things with Lavon to save her friendship with Lemon.

Zoe cuts out of the party early to find Wade and determine where their relationship stands. Turns out the comment from Zoe was just the push he needed to get things back up and running on his dream of owning his own bar. Finally, Wade shows he is more than just a hot bartender.

Hart of Dixie is back on February 19th and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with Lemon and Annabeth.
