Hart of Dixie - Season 2 Episode 15 - Recap - The Gambler

Here’s the recap for Season 2 Episode 15 of Hart of Dixie: “The Gambler" on The CW!

After the week hiatus I am certainly ready to get back to all the Bluebell shenanigans, starting with Wade’s (Wilson Bethel) performance at Battle of the Bands. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

We left off two weeks ago with Wade wanting to make big changes. A big change that includes owning his own bar, and in order to make his dream come true, he’s going to need money. With a cash prize being offered at the Battle of the Bands, he and his bandmate Meatball sign up. Wanting to be a supportive girlfriend, Zoe (Rachel Bilson) agrees to go see them practice along with George (Scott Porter) and Tansy(Mircea Monroe). It didn’t take long for all three of them to agree on one thing. Meatball was horrible.

Another horrible thing? Lemon (Jamie King) and Annabeth’s (Kaitlyn Black) friendship. After AB’s little tryst with Lavon (Cress Williams), she and Lemon are still on non-speaking terms. With AB out of the picture, Lemon has been spending almost all her time with her boyfriend Walt (Rich McDonald). But since he is going to be out of town this weekend she is at a loss of what to do. Lucky for her, Magnolia’s (Claudia Lee) choral trip got canceled and it’s a girl’s weekend for the Breeland girls.

Walt and Lemon (in happier times)

After running into Lavon on the street and learning he is totally off romance. Annabeth decides to set her sights on winning back Lemon’s friendship. With the help of Cricket (Brandi Burkhardt) and her Lemon GPS on her phone, they decide to try and run into Lemon at as many places as possible to show her what a good time they were having and she was missing. But it seems to backfire when Lemon denies their offer for mani/pedis.

Despite being no longer interested in love, Lavon has been recruited by Tom (Ross Philips) to help assist in his proposal to Wanda (Mallory Moye). After being reminded of his amazing, yet failed, proposal to Ruby he agrees to help out. But things go terribly wrong when Lavon overhears Wanda claming “it’s a disaster” when overhearing of Tom’s plan to propose. Lavon breaks the news to Tom and after getting upset himself, he upsets the horses that were supposed to be part of the big night, and winds up being dragged along side them down the street.

With the Battle of the Bands coming up quickly, Zoe and George take it upon themselves to let Wade know of their feelings for Meatball. George suggests replacing Meatball but Wade doesn’t think it’s such a good idea. Feeling bad Zoe comes out and tells Wade she would rather him him play with Lily Ann (the same Lily Ann that made a pass at him a few episodes ago) Realizing that Zoe was serious he suggested to Meatball they made a change, and change that caused Meatball to quit. So in a panic, Wade called George.

George was excited to play with the band but Tansy isn’t so thrilled as she tells George she can’t date a musician. George explains to her that for 15 years Lemon had organized every aspect of his life and couldn’t be with someone like that again. After a few hours of thinking Tansy comes to her senses and agrees to let George be himself.

Girls weekend is in full swing when things from to a crashing halt with the return of Walt. Lemon ditches her sister to go to dinner with him. Still on their Lemon tracking mission, Cricket and Annabeth show up at the restaurant and tell Lemon of Cricket’s plans to redo her kitchen knowing that will spark her interest. After dismissing them and their plans, Lemon starts making plans for she and Walt. Too many plans for Walt’s liking and he decided to break up with her.

Zoe, full of apologies lately- says sorry to Wade, again. She shows her support of Wade and his dream by getting him a neon sign saying “Wade’s Place” The moment was spoiled by a phone call from Lavon to Zoe though as he needed her help with Tom. After Zoe takes off, Wade starts freaking out, especially after seeing Meatball at the bar. With all the pressure on him Wade begins to drink… a lot. George suggests slowing down, much to Wade’s dislike and kicks him out of the band. Meatball was back in.

Annabeth and Cricket show up once again at the same place Lemon is and she knows somethings up. After figuring out they were using the GPS she can’t believe how low Annabeth had gone. She tells Annabeth that she wants to dissolve their catering business. Annabeth’s life is just getting more and more complicated when Lavon shows up at her door. After watching the bizarre Zombie Apocalypse style proposal Wanda had planned for Tom. He tells Annabeth he is willing to wait for her while she figures out her situation with Lemon.

Tom and Wanda get engaged in a Zombie Apocalypse style proposal

Back at the Battle of the Bands, things go pretty much as expected with Meatball in the band and they lost. Trying to console his friend George wants to know what’s wrong. Wade explains that he is sick of everyone supporting him and believing in him because he knows he is just going to fail. Biggest fail of the night, not loosing the competition, but leaving the bar with another girl after Zoe fails to show up.

Is this the end for Zoe and Wade? What will Lemon do know that Walt is out of the picture? How long with Lavon have to wait for Annabeth? Can’t wait for next Tuesday!!
