Hart of Dixie - Season 3 Episode 7 - Recap - I Run To You
This week's episode of Hart of Dixie follows up on the usual ongoing plots, with Joel still adjusting to life in BlueBell and everyone having a complicated lovelife in the classic The CW fashion. Read on!
George struggles with the minefield that is his sex life, seeing as he's banging his best friend Lavon's younger cousin, Lyndly. Lyndly's spot in the upcoming race is important, which means the knee injury she suffers when trying to bed George the night before is a big problem. The next day when she reveals her injury, Lyndly tells Lavon about her and George. Lavon tells George they can't see one another and that George is out of the race. Lavon is also stressed about his relationship with AnnaBeth while he's coaching the race, especially when the runner get soggy in practice after eating some jam she made. Lavon works through his feelings and finally lets George run in the race, for the good of BlueBell. Also because Lyndly is a freakin' adult and can have sex with whomever she wants to. George and lyndly ultimately decide to be a legit couple, which Lavon is a grump about. I'm sure he'll get used to it throughout the season!
Zoe is worried about Joel's work ethic. The worry increases when Joel's agent calls Zoe. Joel's missed a deadline and isn't answering his phone! Joel's been blowing off work to hang out with Wade, because he's got a bad case of writer's block. Zoe goes super out of her way to recreate Joel's NYC writing conditions, getting black and white cookies and a special couch and a bunch of other stuff. It doesn't work anyhow. Good job Zoe. Then Joel vanishes. After searching everywhere, Wade discovers Joel has been stolen by these crazy hillbillies that have it out for Wade. Wade works out a deal to get Joel back, and it seems the writer's block was caused by a lack of adventure! Joel's newfound social life has got his work life back.
Lemon interferes with her father Brick's love life, encouraging him to start dating again, six months after his break-up with Shelby (a much younger woman). She sends in a potential suitor to get a "booster shot" from Brick, and he makes the time for her despite his full schedule. Meanwhile, Lemon's business deal from last episode rears its head, with the seller of the restaurant Fancie's running into Lemon and being real cagey about who beat Lemon's bid. Then Lemon finds out it is Dad's ex, Shelby, bought Fancie's... and Shelby is real pregnant! Wooooaaaaaah!!
This was a good episode, with a great cliffhanger. I like that Joel is finally settling, but I also feel like I say this every week and he still isn't settled. Maybe this time is for real! I miss Wade being a bigger part of the show. I don't care so much about George or Lyndly (beyond the eye candy), so their plot is fun mainly because it upsets Lavon, who is so funny when he's frustrated. Anyway, check out this preview below!
