J.K. Rowling Producing a 'Harry Potter' Stage Play

J.K. Rowling isn't done with Harry Potter just yet! All praise to Dumbledore!
The wizarding world was sent all aflutter by news that a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie was on the way and now the Daily Mail (who we're hoping isn't making a Daily Fail) is reporting that J.K. is producing a Harry Potter stage play.
Said play is set to open in London's West End in two years and will be a prequel of sorts to the life of the boy wizard Harry Potter.
So basically being tortured by his mother's horrible family and living in a cupboard where his only friends are spiders.
Sounds uplifting.
Rowling -- who will act as the co-producer -- said she'd received many pitches for a play over the year, but the one by theatre vets Sonia Friedman (Book of Mormon) and Colin Callender (Nicholas Nickleby) spoke to her because it "was the only one that really made sense to me, and which had the sensitivity, intensity and intimacy I thought appropriate for bringing Harry's story to the stage."
She went on to add, "After a year in gestation, it is very exciting to see this project moving onto the next phase."
Merry Christmas Harry Potter fandom!
