Harry Potter breaks single-day box office record on Friday

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 took in more than $80 million in the US Box Office on Friday - the most profitable single day ever. The previous record was held by Twilight Saga: New Moon with $72 million.
The next record that can fall is the 3-day weekend record of $158 million currently held by Dark Knight.

Distributor Warner Bros. reports that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" summoned up $92.1 million domestically on opening day Friday.
