Harrison Ford, recently revealed as a huge fan of starring in films with numbers in the title, has added another to his resume: a role in the upcoming 'Anchorman 2.'
Ford has been a pretty hot property in Hollywood of late, as he recently finished shooting the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, and is expected to have a role in JJ Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII. His role in 'Anchorman 2' is the latest in a long line of high-profile gets for the actor. The sequel to the hit 2004 comedy 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy', set to begin shooting this month in Atlanta, will be directed by Adam McKay and star Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, along with franchise newcomer Kristen Wiig.
Ford will play a legendary, Tom Brokaw-esque newscaster in the sequel, written by Ferrell and McKay, who will also serve as producers alongside Judd Apatow and Kevin Messick. Actual plot details are under wraps.
The Jackie Robinson biopic 42, which releases April 12, is not the only film Ford already has in the can. He's also completed filming on the upcoming thriller Paranoia, and the long-awaited big-screen adaptation of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game, a property that Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are hoping to turn into a franchise. Just like that other franchise Ford is known for. Or the other one. Or the third one. You know, come to think of it, not since that Greek guy in my area who owns all the Subways have I seen someone better at franchises. Ford's got this on lock.
