Happy Endings - Blax, Snake, Home - Recap

Happy Endings returns to remind us why it was one of the breakout hits earlier in the year. Really, the opening scene says it all. What would you call a show that has a group of friends celebrating in a hotel room, trying to eat shellfish until one of them stabs the other in the leg while another needs to be stabbed with a needle? A good show that's what. Penny diffuses the situation like a pro when Max accidentally stabs Brad in the leg while trying to shuck himself some shellfish. An allergic reaction breaks out and Max has to hold back vomit.

When no one can figure out what to do, Penny stabs the right thigh with medication, yanks out whatever sharp weapon is lodged in Brad's thigh, dumps a bucket of cold water on Max and successfully orders a pay per view movie all in about ten seconds.

Is she wonder woman? Maybe. And she's got herself a new condo. She's so happy to finally be a homeowner and turn her life around. She is less than thrilled when a neighbor convinces her that the place is cursed and she will live and die there an old spinster. She shrugs it off until a large group of cats magically find their way in to her apartment and her DVR automatically records a bunch of The View and The Good Wife. These are shows that were recorded by Max who is depressed when Brad only wants to spend time with his black friends.

Jane convinces Dave and Alex to be more honest with each other for a healthier relationship. The things they've hidden from each other are hilarious. Why oh WHY does anyone wear a running sock/rubber shoe combo..thing? Good lord. This backfired on Jane and she ends up stuck in the middle being forced to do all the things the two of them have been held back from until she too can't take it anymore. Penny gets a new roommate when Alex flees her apartment when her new snake gets loose.

Funniest Quotes of the Night:

Penny: Should I get an AOL email address?

Alex: I think I gave the snake diabetes.
