A 'Hannibal' Cookbook Is In the Works

Love Hannibal? Love food? Well, Bryan Fuller has got you covered!

The executive producer of NBC's Hannibal has confirmed that a cookbook based on the hit show is in the works. Of course, this might cause trepidation among general audiences, since the series is centered around Hannibal Lecter, a famed cannibal. Played by Mads Mikkelsen, Lecter delivers a weekly assortment of delectable gourmet dishes in the show, but it's hard to ever know for certain if the meat is something viewers would actually want to sink their teeth into. Of course, the cookbook won't have this problem.

Yes, you will now be able to give Lecter a run for his money in the culinary department with your own version of such famed dishes as braised beef lungs, Parmesan crumbled lamb’s brains and chicken liver paté. The book is expected to contain both new recipes and recipes from Thomas Harris's novels, according to Fuller.

Yet that's not all that's in the works, as Fuller confirms, "...there’s also a fantastic ‘Art of Making of Hannibal.’ [...] I saw some pages from it. It’s a gorgeous book.”

Unfortunately, Fuller did not reveal any release information for either book. But one would expect one or both books to arrive either before or concurrently with the premiere of Season 3, which would put a likely release in the first quarter of 2015. But that's mostly just an educated guess. All I know is that I want to start planning the inevitable dinner parties now.
