Haley Reinhart calls Interscope deal political; planning EP
In an interview with New Paper, American Idol alum Haley Reinhart speaks out on being dropped from her label, calling her signing process with Idol's label Interscope "fast and politcal." She's also working on an EP!
When getting the bad news, Reinhart said "It was a setback for about a day and I just let it simmer." She said the process of getting signed was very quick, stating, "It was all very fast and also very political. I got signed by Interscope before we went on our post-Idol tour, so that was great. I didn't know what I was getting into and I was presented this offer and I took it."
However, she says she doesn't regret any of it - as Interscope let her do things freely and let her write an album. She says she will continue to do that. "It was the start of something amazing and I got to release an entire album with their support, so it was great," she said.
She has a lot of overseas gigs soon and said "I'll still be working on my music and an upcoming EP, so I'll be keeping busy as usual."
This is all really a shame as Listen Up was one of the best albums of 2012. Good luck Haley, we'll be looking out for the EP!
