Gwen Stefani in Talks for 'The Voice', Would Replace Christina Aguilera

Is The Voice looking for its new Usher/Shakira combo? Those two are a part of the coaching panel in the spring, before ceding their spots back to Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera. But with Cee Lo having departed the show, and Christina currently pregnant with her second child, it appears the show will need two new coaches for this fall. One spot has already been filled by Pharrell, he of the Oscar-nominated "Happy," a song that is a movement unto itself. But what about the other spot?

Well, apparently, Gwen Stefani is in talks to take that coveted fourth spot on the upcoming seventh season of The Voice. There really isn't much more to it than that, actually. She might be a part of the panel, or she might just be taking the meeting with NBC as a courtesy. Either way, the network is going to have to make a decision soon, since season seven is scheduled to begin shooting in June. Yes, June. Meaning the janitors will practically still be sweeping away confetti from the Season 6 finale in the middle of blind auditions for Season 7.

Of course, no matter whom they get to join Pharrell as a newbie, NBC can rest easy in the knowledge that it still has Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to hold down the fort, as the bromantic interests continue their Cal Ripken-like streak of perfect attendance for each season. Of course, if Stefani falls through, any one of this season's fantastic guest mentors would be a great pick: you could do husband vs. wife by hiring Miranda Lambert, or you can go the R&B route with Jill Scott, or you could just drive a mack truck full of money up to Chris Martin's house and see if he'll do it.

What do you think about Stefani possibly joining the panel? If not Gwen, then whom would you like to see as a Voice coach? Sound off in the comments!
