Group 2 dominates American Idol 8 Top 5

We might as well call the Top 5 "Group 2" of the American Idol Semi-Finals.

Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen were voted in by viewers, while Matt Giraud was selected in the Wild Card. All of them were from Group 2 of the Top 36.

Danny Gokey is the odd-man out coming from Group 1.

Does this mean anything? Well, it's a bit of history repeating itself actually. During the years when Idol had semi-final groups:

Season 1's Top 2 were all from Group 2: Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini
Season 2's Top 3 were all from Group 2: Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken and Kimberley Locke
Season 3's Top 2 were all from Group 1: Fantasia Barrino and Diana deGarmo

Will Danny Gokey break this trend?
