Grigsby, Caldwell and Trenyce - American Idol Rewind

Here are the semi-final performances of Charles Grigsby, Kimberly Caldwell and Trenyce from American Idol: Rewind. The Season 2 semi-finals divided the Idols into four groups and viewers voted the top 2 in each group to the finals. A fifth "wildcard" show occurred later and an additional 4 singers were chosen to the finals via vote and judge's choice. Also, there was no studio audience and the only accompaniment was a baby grand piano.

Charles Grigsby. Charles' 'archetype' has been very rare on American Idol. I guess Nikko Smith (and he was a substitute) was the only other B2K-type singer to make it to the finals in AI history.

Kimberly Caldwell. I must admit, Kimberly was my bet early on in Season 2. I loved her "Come To My Window", and I was shocked that she didn't make it to the finals by viewer vote. She was a judge's choice in the wildcard. I don't like her anymore since I've discovered how "showbiz fake" she is most of the time. But she's employed -- covering American Idol on TV Guide channel. Still no album -- which she announced years ago.

Trenyce. LaShundra Cobbins changed her name to "Trenyce" at the start of the semi-finals. How very Mandisa of her. Trenyce also did not make it to the finals by viewer vote, but was a judge's choice in the wildcard.
