Google and Viacom settle YouTube lawsuit

Google and Viacom have settled Viacom's lawsuit against YouTube claiming copyright violations. Viacom has been suing since 2007.

The lawsuit was settled out of court.

No details were given but Google gave a statement:

Google and Viacom today jointly announced the resolution of the Viacom vs. YouTube copyright litigation. This settlement reflects the growing collaborative dialogue between our two companies on important opportunities, and we look forward to working more closely together.

Viacom had been seeking $1 Billion in damages.
