'Gone Girl' Star Kim Dickens Is Female Lead in 'Walking Dead' Spinoff
The Walking Dead spinoff has finally found its female lead.
Gone Girl star Kim Dickens will star opposite male lead Cliff Curtis in the upcoming companion series to AMC's top show. Dickens will play a school guidance counselor in a relationship with a teacher played by Curtis. Co-stars Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey will reportedly play Dickens's kids, an ambitious daughter and a son recovering from a drug addiction.
This has been a huge year for Dickens, who had a breakout film role in David Fincher's Gone Girl in the role of persistent detective Rhonda Boney. But she's also appeared in everything from Lost, to Friday Night Lights, to the recently-departed Sons of Anarchy. She's a very talented actress who did a terrific job in Gone Girl, playing a role that vacillated between sympathy and abrasiveness. I think she'll be a great lead for the series. Hopefully, the writing of the show will be strong enough to match her.
