Glee - Throwdown - Gleecap Recap

Glee - Throwdown - Gleecap Recap

(Here's our Gleecap from Gleetern Noelle!)

This week on our favorite American Idol/Karaoke hybrid, the group is divided thanks to Sue and her constant mission to destroy Glee..this time from within. The kids rally together as Quinn's secret is revealed and show everyone they're strongest while together. Meanwhile, Terri is still a little psychotic. She takes her baby fakery one step further this week and it makes for one great episode.

Sue and Will are still fighting and clashing over how Glee is run. Setting up the theme for this week, Mercedes requests that they start singing things that are more black. Amen. Sue of course latches on to the thought that the minorities in the group don't feel as if they're being heard. She decides to split up the group and divide the minorities away from the rest of the group because she's you know..so accepting and Will is a total bigot. It's all part of her plan to slowly take down Glee and get Will fired. Girlfriend needs to let it go. But if she did than we wouldn't get to talk about her crazy antics.

In other news, Quinn is having a girl. This would be great news except for the fact that the rumor of her pregnancy is still swirling around the school and Finn isn't quite "getting" the whole situation. He wants to name the baby Drizzle. As in..precipitation. I can see why Quinn would be upset. Speaking of crazy, Terri continues to put herself in quite a pickle now that Will wants to see an ultrasound. She blackmails a doctor to fake one for her. Tisk tisk tisk.

First jam of the night. It's the chocolate Mercedes wanted with Hate On Me by Jill Scott. She is rockin that song and finally giving us a taste of what she can do for those of us sick of hearing Finn and Rachel shout at eachother. Will isn't loving it quite as much and wants Sue gone. He's playing dirty and I like it. He's hot when he's angry. He flunks a bunch of Sue's cheerleaders on their spanish exam (but rightfully so) and she doesn't understand the necessity of being literate in one language, let alone two. Spanish is apparently only necessary if you want to be a gardner or a dishwasher. Being a cheerleader is apparently a fast track to becoming a banker. Okay then. Will 1. Sue 0. I can't wait to see who feels her wrath next.

Illegal group jam session! Ride With Me by Nelly. Am I the only one who doesn't believe all those kids would know the words to that song? It's the white kids' turn to jam. Since Sue's song was about hate, Will of course wants to do the opposite and chooses No Air by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown. Nothing says the opposite of hate like a love ballad by a woman beater. But i'm totally singing along and not entirely hating it. What the heck? Rachel and Finn serenade eachother in the hallway with fake wind blowing in their hair. Someone seriously ordered the extra cheese for tonight's episode. Rachel did a good job but she's no Jordin. I can accept that.

Finally Quinn says what I've been thinking for awhile. Why do Finn and Rachel get all the solos? She leaves the group and manipulates Puck (who's jewish) and Brittany (who's Dutch) to leave with her. Will is a Dutch hater. Who knew? We're treated (and I use that word lightly) to a Quinn solo singing Keep Me Hangin On by Diana Ross. Her voice is the kind of breathy high pitched vocals you'd expect to hear in a bad Disney channel movie. Ahem. It's strange but also thankfully short. I'm ready for the big finale song we will most likely get.

And we do! After Sue being the lovely woman that she is spills the beans about Quinn, the group gets together and supports Quinn in the form of Keep Holdin On by Avril Lavigne. If you forget it's an Avril Lavigne song it's actually quite lovely. A little corny but a nice episode finale.

I didn't think too much happened this week but I did love the end song. What did you guys think?
