Glee - Recap - Someone Call Chris Hansen
Who else is ready for the continued return of Creeper Will?
Read on for our recap of Season 5 Episode 5 of Glee "The End of Twerk."
Tina makes the unfortunate discovery of Blaine twerking in the choir room and our theme for the week has begun. Sue (Jane Lynch) is not happy. She wants to ban twerking and, if she had her way, she would ban Will as well because he is way out of line. He is just blurring the lines (see what I did there?) all over the place this week.
In an act of rebellion, Will thinks it is perfectly normal and appropriate to dance suggestively down the halls to Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" with his STUDENTS.
Will: Twerking is about blurring the lines between the past and the present and between men and women. It's all in that Alan Thicke song that I love!
Artie: Blurred Lines by ROBIN Thicke? Yeah that's not what that's about...
Sue: You do know that's a song about date rape, right? You are a married 37 year old who just performed a song about coercive sexual advances while 9 minors twerked alongside you.
Well, at least they addressed his creepy ways. Then Sue fires him. "Wipe your chin because there's a butt on it." Not wanting to stand for Sue any longer, Will mimics one of Sue's epic tantrums from a few seasons earlier.
Will takes his rebellious attitude to the rest of the Glee club when Unique has a run in with bullies for trying to use the boy's bathroom. After a performance of "If I Were a Boy", Sue is inspired to give Unique a private bathroom...in the choir room. I would be more moved by this story line if Bree hadn't just called Unique "The voice of Elmo." Really?
Elsewhere, Bree tells Marley about what her and Jake have been up to. That was fast. I'm so impressed by Melissa Benoist in this scene. Then, I almost miss what happens next because I'm laughing so hard. Marley, still in tears, runs straight for the stage and just starts performing "Wrecking Ball." She's actually on a wrecking ball. I don't know about you, but when I'm crying, the first thing I do is find a stage to sing some Miley Cyrus.
Over in New York, Rachel shows up to her latest Funny Girl rehearsal with a dramatic new hairdo. She cut her hair off! After a fabulous performance of "You Are Woman, I Am Man" we discover that it was just a wig. But she still wants to make a change and convinces Kurt to go get a tattoo with her. Originally, Kurt wanted to get "It Gets Better" but after a drunken night, that tattoo ends up being misspelled. Eventually, it morphs into "It's Got Bette Midler."
Rachel tells Kurt that she chickened out because there's nothing she would want on her body for all of time. As she walks into the bathroom, we see that she actually got a tattoo that says "Finn".
I seriously almost cried.
