Gillian Jacobs Joins 'Girls' Season 4
Community has been canceled over at NBC, but Gillian Jacobs isn't leaving television just yet. (And thank goodness. This woman is too insanely talented not to have steady work)
Jacobs is joining season four of Girls in a recurring role. She will play a character named Mimi-Rose Howard, and will make her first appearance in Episode 5, titled "Mimi-Rose." If nothing else, this episode title implies she could be a bit more substantial than your average recurring character. How many non-major cast members get episodes titled after them, after all? No, really, I have no clue. Either way, Jacobs will now be the second Community alum to appear on the show after Donald Glover guested on the show in season 2 as a man Hannah (Lena Dunham) briefly dated. Of course, that didn't end particularly well for Hannah. But then, that's kind of par for the course for her. And for Britta Perry, Jacobs's character on Community, whose name was turned into a verb for ruining things. (Man, I miss Community already)
Series creator/writer/star Lena Dunham went on to confirm the casting announcement via Twitter:
It's true! The super-special @GillianJacobs has joined us for Girls season 4. We are pretty lucky.
