GCB - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing - Recap
It's week four of GCB, and it looks to be just as criminally juicy and delicious in tonight's episode called "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing." After much of the drama of last week, I wonder just exactly how they'll continue to handle the Ripp situation as he continues to scrounge around for more details on the late Bill.
Also, will Blake be outed as gay at some point?
Every character tonight must deal with their own wolf in sheep's clothing. Intentions are not always as they seem. Ripp and Carlene continue to dig into Amanda (and Gigi's) life to find evidence of Bill's fraudulent behavior. Carlene schmoozes Amanda as best she can to pump her for details. She is nice enough to send over her nail lady, Chardonnay, to give Amanda a pedicure--which sets up a hilarious joke about drinking.

Last week, Sharon finally stood up to Zach about his infidelity. Hottie Pastor Tudor advises the couple to do a trial separation, so they can really learn to appreciate what each of them brings to the marriage. Sharon--moonstruck by the hunky Tudor--becomes employed by the church and attempts to build a shelf.
Carlene's uncle Burl and his wife Betsy return to town. They sell Bibles to third-world countries. Needless to say, Betsy and Gigi's relationship is quite rough around the edges. "Betsy is just a horse's ass," Gigi vents. Come to find out, Burl's heart has "big problems," as he divulges the heartbreaking news to Gigi. "So, that's why you came," she replies. There is an obvious chemistry between them that gets his wife Betsy super jealous--who then plots to yank Burl away on a boat trip. Burl then implores Gigi to bury the hatchet between her and Betsy. She gives a valiant effort, but sometimes two horses just aren't meant to mix company.

Amanda--who's been living a Bootylicious lifestyle--finally lands a job...working with Blake and Crickett. This absolutely can not end well. Blake wants to reinvent the Westward Ho brand of jeans and relaunch. He thinks Amanda has a great sense of style and would really benefit the project. Cricket, obviously, isn't too keen on the idea but she wears a fake smile and welcomes her on board. She has something sinister up her sleeve. "We'll be within spitting distance," she coos to Amanda.
In a design meeting, Amanda suggests borrowing elements from each pair of jeans throughout the years and create a whole new design. Cricket--with her scheming little smile--approves and the ball begins to roll. "I need some ass," Amanda says into the phone. Later the next day, at the photo shoot, Amanda spies Blake flirting with another cowboy wrangler and the guy even gives Blake his number. "I do not judge," she tells him. We quickly learn that Blake wants someone who he can trust (outside of Cricket) and understands their situation. Well, Amanda isn't the only person who knows about their white marriage. Gigi reveals at the party that she knows all about it.

Before they know it, the photo shoot photos leak, causing an uproar in the communitty. Initially, it looks like the project has to be scrapped, but Cricket stands her ground. She's willing to help out a "friend," despite how odd her intentions may be. Blake and Amanda's friendship begins to blossom even more. Amanda calls up an unnamed friend to find out who the corrupt blogger is that leaked the photos. "You make me wanna slap my momma," Blake quips.
A quick thinker, Amanda comes up with a new name for the brand: Westward Hosannah. This way, the jeans will appeal to the same people they offended.
Heather is still hard at work trying to snag Andrew right up. He's looking to settle down but needs a piece of land to do it. Burl's arrival is just what she needs. He's looking to sell roughing 500 acres. Carlene wants the land to start her "Condos for Christians" campaign, but Heather does a little snooping to find that they would be breaking the law. You know how Carlene is a good Christian and all. Heather approaches Burl about the 500 acres and reveals the law-breaking aspect of Carlene's idea, and he bites. The backstabbing keeps getting richer.

The costume party is when all hell breaks lose. There seems to be a formula here with this show. Sharon quickly learns that she underestimated herself and that Zach didn't learn a thing with the separation experiment.
As a gift for getting the piece of land, Andrew gives Heather a lovely set of silver earrings. He then gives Amanda the contact number of their ratty blogger. Come to find out, the person who leaked the photos was...CRICKET! Amanda, however, takes the high road and steps down from her position with the company. No need for more treachery...yet.

Carlene isn't a fool, however, and notices Heather's new earrings. It all clicks. Betrayal is in the air! "I love your Selena, someone shot her right?" Carlene snidely asks Heather before clomping away. Oh, snap.
Gigi--somewhat defeated--confides in her daughter about the Burl situation. Meanwhile, Betsy is chewing on some meat and starts choking in the background. Hilariously, no one notices as she drops dead--only to be discovered much later by Blake and Cricket.
How will this be resolved?
