Happy Friday to everyone! With summer kicking into gear, here is the weekly entry for your musical enjoyment, courtesy of Rickey.Org and Soundtrack to my Day. This was a great week at S2MD, the celebration of a great year, racking up over 162,000 hits, as well as winning the Bloggie for Best Weblog About Music. Michael Lowman released an amazing six-song EP this past Tuesday, and the South African singer/songwriter has a great sound. Recorded in Las Vegas, Lowman shines on all the songs, but this is the title track, In My Own Words. For more about Michael and a review of the EP, check out my post here.

Living and recording in Los Angeles, Guy B has a distinct sound that uses the influences of soul, rock and Middle Eastern music to create albums that are textured and fun. He sang One Way Or Another at a recent Open Artists event, and if you look losely, you will see one of the other performers at the event was former Idol runner-up, Blake Lewis. Philadelphia native Dave Patten utilizes hip-hop and rock to give his music an edge and charm that just makes me happy. Also a student of film, Dave makes his own videos that have a humor, charm, and flair that work so well with the songs. His most recent release is Fast, which came out this past weekend.
