Gabriel's Sledgehammer, JR's Beautiful End, Archy & Mehitabel, Casey's Blood and SIRPAUL's Music - Friday Music
Gearing up for the weekend with a little Pop, a little Rock, and a little dance music to get the gears in motion. The following are artists I have recently featured on my own blog, Soundtrack to my Day, and the links in the description will bring you to a post there to tell you more about the artists.
Peter Gabriel emerged from the progressive rock band Genesis to create a new and ever-evolving sound of his very own. This is Sledgehammer, a video that revolutionized the business. [Worth Another Listen - Peter Gabriel]

JR Richards made a name for himself as the lead singer for the California-based rock band Dishwalla. They had the memorable hit Counting Blue Cars. Well, the singer and songwriter finally decided to stake his claim to a solo career, and the first single was A Beautiful End from the album of the same name. I find his voice to be truly remarkable. Quirky, talented, classical, pop, funny and charming could all be used to describe Lee Waters and Alexander Horwitz, the duet who make up the band Archy & Mehitabel. This is their latest video for the song Thank You. [Archy & Mehitabel - Thank You Video]

Michigan's Casey Stratton released a live album recorded the week before from a show at the Wealthy Theatre. Casey has an amazing voice, and a musicality and depth that is tough to find in other performers. Here he performs the song Blood, from a live show a few years ago.
