Ciara is looking to the future: the R&B singer has become engaged to her rapper-producer boyfriend.

Future, a rapper-producer who has collaborated with Rihanna and is currently on tour with Drake, surprised Ciara with a 15-carat diamond ring over the weekend. The news was confirmed to the Associated Press by their publicist, Chris Chambers. The singer was celebrating her 28th birthday in New York when he popped the question.

The couple have been together for over a year. A wedding date has yet to be set.

Ciara has recently returned to the spotlight herself, having released an eponymously-titled fifth album in July.
