'Frozen' Now Fifth Highest-Grossing Film of All-Time Worldwide

Although Disney's Frozen has been out on home video in the United States for some time, the Oscar-winning animated juggernaut continues to conquer box office records worldwide. When factoring in the gross from this weekend's remaining international territories, Frozen has now surpassed Iron Man 3 to become the fifth highest-grossing film of all-time worldwide.

Japan deserves a huge chunk of the credit, as the movie has brought in $193.7 million in the country to date, holding the No. 1 spot for ELEVEN STRAIGHT WEEKENDS, making it the country's fourth highest-grossing film in history. It is also the country's No. 3 Western movie of all-time after James Cameron's Titanic and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

To sum up, Frozen has now earned a massive $1.219 billion globally, overtaking Iron Man 3's $1.215 billion. Could the movie climb even higher before its run ends? It's difficult to know for sure, but I wouldn't entirely bet against it. I'd bet Frozen has exceeded even Disney's pre-release expectations. This movie is HUGE, and its popularity is likely going to grow with time.
