'Frozen,' Wolverine and Simon Cowell Are Influencing 2014 Baby Names
It's no news that popular culture influences what people name their babies, and this time parents are being inspired by Disney's Frozen, the superhero Wolverine and X Factor judge Simon Cowell.
One of these things is not like the other!
Credit: MarvelBaby names which have gained traction this year include Elsa, Kristoff, Hans and Sven from Frozen, Logan after the character Wolverine and Eric after Simon Cowell's newborn son.
Said Disney's UK VP of the news, "We're delighted that Elsa is a popular name for babies and it's lovely to hear that for many families, it is actually their siblings who have chosen it."
"We've been bowled over by the response to Frozen - it's now the fifth biggest film of all time and families are really connecting with Elsa's fight to overcome her fears and the powerful strength of the family bond which has helped her to achieve this."
While Elsa has risen 243 places to the 88th place on the list of popular girl names, Eric has jumped 284 places to the number 118 spot for popular boy names. Logan is now number 14, rising up 33 places.
