Frenchie Davis - And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going - Audition - American Idol: Rewind

Frenchie Davis auditions in New York for American Idol Season 2. One of the greatest auditions and stories on American Idol ever.

American Idol owes Frenchie big time for disqualifying her after it was discovered that she had posed topless in an adult website. She was not underage when she did it, and she did it to pay for her tuition in Howard University. I've never even seen any of those pictures, and yet in Season 6, when Antonella Barba's racy pictures spread throughout the Internet like wildfire, American Idol did not bat an eyelash. Some of Idol's more prominent figures such as Bo Bice have been arrested for felonies, and yet Idol kept them. So soft-porn that no one has ever seen is not forgivable and semi-nude pictures that everyone has seen and cocaine use and getting caught with drugs is. Talk about a double standard.

Looking at this audition now, Frenchie Davis could have taken the whole thing, probably ending with Clay Aiken in the Finals. We will have to be content with having Frenchie as the greatest contestant not to have made it to the Semi-Finals or the Top 12.

After American Idol, Frenchie appeared in Rent and made a name for herself on Broadway.

American Idol Rewind Season 2 is being shown on CW every Saturday.
