FOX Renames 'Broadchurch' Remake

Despite the casting of original series star David Tennant and the involvement of original series creator Chris Chibnall, FOX's Broadchurch isn't exactly ITV's Broadchurch.

FOX is renaming its American remake of the critically-acclaimed, award-winning British drama Broadchurch.

Production Weekly, a film and television production tracking database tweeted today (Oct. 28) that the remake will now be titled "Gracepoint."

Chibnall will write the first episode of the remake for the series, which follows the investigation into the murder of a young boy in a small town, before handing over the reins to executive producers/showrunners Dan Futterman and Anya Epstein.

Production on the 10-episode limited series is scheduled to begin in January.
