FOX Previews 'Glee' Finn Tribute Episode

As part of the TCA Summer press tour, FOX president Kevin Reilly confirmed that the third episode of Glee's new season will deal with writing Cory Monteith out of the show.

Cory Monteith dead at 31

The episode is said to deal with drug addiction directly but no confirmation of Finn dying of a drug overdose was given. The episode will also feature drug-related PSAs featuring Ryan Murphy and the rest of the cast. Also, all the proceeds from the music in the episode will go to a foundation in Cory's memory.

Glee‘s farewell episode to Finn will “deal directly with the drug addiction” that felled his portrayer Cory Monteith, Fox president Kevin Reilly told reporters Thursday at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour in Beverly Hills. However, Reilly stopped short of saying Finn’s death would be the result of an overdose.

“The third episode deals with writing Finn out of the show,” Reilly confirmed, adding that the hour will be accompanied by a series of drug-related PSAs featuring series creator Ryan Murphy and members of the show’s cast.

Reilly would neither confirm nor deny rumors that the episode will make use of never-before-seen footage and/our outtakes of Monteith, saying only that “it’s a possibility.”

I can already tell that I will be blubbering during this episode. I haven't watched Glee in quite some time but I feel like I need to say goodbye to Finn.

Do you think the writers of Glee are making the right decision for Finn by killing him off? Would you rather they had let Finn and Rachel have their happily ever after?
