FOX Picks Up Teen Drama Pilot From Diablo Cody, Josh Schwartz

FOX is looking to hit the teen drama jackpot.

The network has picked up a one-hour pilot for Prodigy, a teen drama from Academy Award-winning Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody and The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz.

The series centers on "a 16-year-old home schooled genius who decides to take a shot at the high school experience before heading to college. It works and then backfires when she takes up with a wild crowd."

Cody will script the show, while development of the series will be spearheaded by Fake Empire Productions, a company which Schwartz founded in 2010 with his Gossip Girl co-creator Stephanie Savage.
