FOX Officially Orders 'Gotham' to Series

FOX has taken the inevitable and made it reality.

Gotham, the upcoming origin drama centering on the cops and villains of a pre-Batman Gotham City, has been officially ordered to series by the network. Not that there was ever any doubt that this would happen, given that it's one of FOX's most anticipated new shows. The drama hasn't exactly been shrouded in mystery either, as FOX has been fairly up front about what we can expect.

In addition to the casting announcements for such characters as The Riddler and actors such as Jada Pinkett Smith, FOX has also released the official logo and plot synopsis, along with our first peeks at Selina Kyle (the future Catwoman), Det. Jim Gordon, and The Penguin and Alfred Pennyworth. In short, there's a lot here to stoke the flames of anticipation when (and we CAN now say "when") Gotham premieres this fall.
