Former 'Grey's Anatomy' Star T.R. Knight Marries Boyfriend

The former Dr. George O'Malley is now a married man.

Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight has married his boyfriend of three years, Patrick, on Friday. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in upstate New York.

Among the guests at the ceremony was Knight's friend and former costar Katherine Heigl, whose characters on Grey's, George and Izzie, were also best friends (and, at one point, lovers).

Heigl posted photos on Twitter from the wedding. In one pic, we get a look at the red lace dress Heigl wore to the ceremony, while another photo features her goofing off in a photo booth with her husband, singer/songwriter Josh Kelley, and former Grey's costar Kate Walsh.

Knight, 40, made headlines in 2007 when he asked to be let out of his $14 million contract three years early following an incident in which co-star Isaiah Washington referred to him using an anti-gay slur during a heated argument with fellow co-star Patrick Dempsey. Knight eventually left Grey's Anatomy in 2009. He is currently starring in the critically-acclaimed off-Broadway production of Romeo & Juliet with Elizabeth Olsen and Oscar winner William Hurt.
