Fleur East sings 'Uptown Funk' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)
Fleur East sang 'Uptown Funk' on The X Factor UK Semifinals on December 6, 2014.
This was SENSATIONAL. One of the best performances of the entire freaking season. I seriously didn't think I'd be blown away tonight, but here I am, with my hair standing on end. I probably sound like a broken record when I say that the overall production was better than the vocal itself, but I feel like I'm probably just splitting hairs. Either way, this was just BEYOND what we normally get from contestants on a show like this. I can't think of a contestant in recent history who's delivered such stage presence (dancing, swagger, everything) on a weekly basis, while still being able to sing like crazy. Olly Murs, maybe?
I really can't get over how good this was, and while some might find it a bit hyperbolic for him to have said so, I wasn't surprised when Simon declared this was now in his top 3 best performances he's seen out of all the singing competitions he's ever been a part of. (Now I'm trying to think of what the other two are. If I had to guess, based on previous comments he's made over the years, I'd think it'd be “A House Is Not A Home” from Tamyra Gray on American Idol Season 1, and “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” from Matt Cardle on The X Factor Series 7). This was just outrageously good.
But what do you think of Fleur East?
