'The Flash' casts Kelly Frye as Plastique
The cast for The CW's The Flash continues to expand, long before its eventual series premiere on Oct. 7.
Rake star Kelly Frye will guest star on the new series as Bette San Souci, the bomb disposal expert who will go on to become the supervillain Plastique. She will make her debut in Episode 5 of the Arrow spinoff, in which Plastique's ability to turn any object into a bomb will likely be a huge factor.
She joins a colorful cast of recent additions that includes Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, and Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond, one half of the entity known as Firestorm.
Frye is a great addition to the show, and Plastique seems like a perfect fit for this world, which embraces the comic book nature of the story in ways that grittier takes on the source material wouldn't. It should be cool to see what Frye brings to the series when it premieres on The CW this fall.
