FIRST LOOK: Selina Kyle and Det. Jim Gordon In FOX’s ‘Gotham’

With Gotham on the way, we're getting our first look at some of the characters in the hotly-anticipated FOX drama. We recently got our first peek at Donal Logue as Det. Harvey Bullock, and Robin Lord Taylor and Sean Pertwee as The Penguin and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively. But now, we're finally getting a look at our series lead, along with a kid who will grow up to be one of the most iconic characters in all of DC Comics lore.

In this official photo, we get a look at Ben McKenzie in his lead role as Det. Jim Gordon, the future Police Commissioner of Gotham City. In Gotham, which serves as an origin series for the character, he and partner Bullock fight crime on the streets of the mythical city, encountering many of the criminals who will plague Batman in later years, leading one to wonder just how good these cops must have been at their jobs. McKenzie looks appropriately worn-out, although I wish he had the mustache. Ah well, something to look forward to for later on down the line! Take a peek below via Entertainment Weekly:

Meanwhile, young Girlhouse alum Camren Bicondova will be playing Selina Kyle, the tough-as-nails street youth who will grow up to be the world (in)famous Catwoman. It's clear from her outfit that she's already got a thing for cat iconography. I'm not entirely sold on the necessity of having a young Selina Kyle on this show, but it could be interesting to see the character in her youth, before she developed all the bravado and swagger that would come to define the character.
