First Look at Katie Cassidy as Black Canary on 'Arrow' (PHOTOS)

Katie Cassidy plays Laurel Lance on Arrow, but pretty soon, she'll be stepping into the role of Black Canary.

Yes, after extensive training with Ted “Wildcat” Grant, Laurel Lance will finally be assuming duties as Black Canary as Arrow enters the second half of its third season in January 2015. The outfit reflects the function-over-style aesthetic of the Arrow universe, although it's still pretty fashionable, just the same. At the very least, she'll cut a striking figure on the screen.

Cassidy is expected to make her debut as Black Canary in the midseason premiere, which is episode 10 of the third season, titled "Left Behind". But you won't have to wait until January to check out Cassidy in the outfit, as The CW has released the first look photos of the actress in uniform.
