First Look at George Clooney in 'Downton Abbey' Charity Short (VIDEO)

George Clooney is coming to Downton Abbey! I mean, we knew that already, but it's still worth getting excited over.

The Oscar winner will appear in a charity short for the holidays, as part of ITV's "Text Santa" special. The network has released a first look clip of Clooney's appearance, and it's kind of surreal to see him in one of TV's most opulent settings.

The clip features Lady Cora (Elizabeth McGovern) speaking about a dinner invitation to someone who, from the back, appears to be her husband, Robert (Hugh Bonneville). However, when the figure -- who is apparently speaking with Lady Rose (Lily James) -- turns around, we see it's Clooney.

So what is his character doing here?

Well, we don't know much more other than that, at some point in the special, he tries to kiss the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith). And really, who could blame him for being attracted to such rapier wit?

The special doesn't premiere until December 19th on ITV in the UK, but you can check out the brief teaser video below:
