Final Ray Price Recordings To Be Released Posthumously

Country music legend Ray Price unfortunately passed away last December with pancreatic cancer at the age of 87, but it has been revealed that he recorded a final album when he knew he was very ill.

The dozen-track collection, entitled Beauty Is... will be released on April 15, featuring with duets with Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Cindy Walker and Wille Nelson, and produced by Fred Foster.

“[Ray] called me in 2012 and said, ‘I think I have one album left in me; I’m not well, you know,’” Fred recounts. “He said, ‘I want to do one last one, and I want you to do it with me.’ The whole time we were working together, his state of mind was always really good. You would never know how sick he was to talk to him. What a classy guy.”
