Netflix has picked up one of entertainment's biggest franchises for the first time: Star Wars is finally headed to Netflix! Or, more specifically, Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The entire series of Star Wars: The Clone Wars begins streaming on Netflix on March 7, including the never-before-seen final episodes. The deal not only features the Star Wars: The Clone Wars feature film, it also includes the director’s cuts of seasons 1 through 5 of the TV series, plus the aforementioned 13 unreleased episodes, dubbed “The Lost Missions.” As part of the multi-year deal, Netflix will own the exclusive rights to the Clone Wars series.

“Stars Wars is one of the most iconic franchises of all time and this series joins a long line of Disney content that Netflix members are and will continue to enjoy for years to come,” said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars had been a popular series for Cartoon Network, averaging 1.7 million viewers for its fifth season. But Lucasfilm's sale of the Star Wars franchise to Disney brought the production cycle to an end, as the production company announced it would no longer create episodes of the animated action series. This left the 13 unaired, “lost” episodes remaining.

Here’s the official description of the final Clone Wars episodes: “Some of the deepest mysteries of the conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force are revealed. An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret, Anakin Skywalker’s closest relationship is tested to its limits and what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy.”
