Federal Way, WA snubs Sanjaya Malakar

Bothell, WA, the hometown of Blake Lewis, made last April 11 "Blake Lewis Day", but Sanjaya Malakar is not getting that same honor in his hometown (also in Washington) according to this statement:

"Federal Way has more important things to deal with and unless a council member tried to push through a proclamation, then that Idol wannabe should not expect a similar honor."

What a travesty! Sanjaya is so proudly putting Federal Way on the map, the mayor could be a bit more appreciative. And so, we are joining VFTW and the thousands of Fanjayas in America in requesting that the mayor proclaim 'Sanjaya Malakar Day' in Federal Way.

E-mail: Mayor Mike Park or Deputy Mayor Jim Ferrell

If it doesn't happen, it's still okay, since everyday is Sanjaya Malakar day. Go Sanjaya!
