Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham has checked herself into a 10-day outpatient rehabilitation program in Florida for alcohol abuse, reports NY Daily News. The reality star, who recently made headlines after a high-profile sex tape and a DUI arrest, says she wants to "make better choices."
"At this time in my life, I need to stay focused on the positive to get through all of the negative that a DUI has caused in my life," said the 22-year-old TV personality.
Abraham was arrested in March for a DUI in Omaha, Nebraska, in which she reportedly blew a .147, nearly twice the legal blood alcohol limit of .08 percent. In the wake of her arrest, Abraham completed an alcohol education class and was placed on six months probation.
As a single parent, Abraham left her 4-year-old daughter Sophia in the care of her father, Mike Abraham, while she undergoes treatment.
"I'm 22 and I want to make better choices and ensure I can recognize when I am putting myself in a bad situation next time," said Abraham.
Abraham is looking to move past the negative connotations her name carries, following several headline-grabbing life choices which include shopping a sex tape around to possible distributors, lashing out at Anger Management star Charlie Sheen, and declaring herself smarter than Kim Kardashian, among other semi-scandalous developments.
