'Fantastic Four' Reboot Cast Revealed

Fox is starting fresh with the Fantastic Four film franchise. After months of rumors, script revisions, and casting sessions, the actors have been finalized for the big budget reboot.

Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell will join Michael B. Jordan in the latest take on the Fantastic Four comic book franchise. Mara will play Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, while Bell is expected to play Ben Grimm/The Thing. Teller, meanwhile, will play Reid Richards/Mr. Fantastic, and Jordan will play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch. The group consists of four relatively ordinary humans who develop superpowers after being exposed to cosmic radiation during a scientific mission to outer space. (Which is really quite tame as far as outlandish superhero origin stories go.)

The new update will be based on The Ultimate Fantastic Four comic book series, which focuses on the characters in their younger years. Josh Trank (Chronicle) will direct from a revised script by Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes), with Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) and Gregory Goodman (X-Men: First Class) serving as producers.

Teller and Jordan recently starred together in the big-screen comedy That Awkward Moment, while Mara can be seen in Netflix's House of Cards, which premiered its second season last Friday. Bell, meanwhile, will star as the lead in AMC's new Revolutionary War drama Turn, which premieres April 6.

Of course, with the heroes finalized, now begins the process of finding a villain. Will it be Dr. Doom again? Maybe another go-around with the Silver Surfer and Galactus? If it were me, I'd go with Skrull, or someone similarly extraterrestrial. But then, I don't work at 20th Century Fox. Which villain would you add to the story? And what do you think of this cast? Sound off in the comments!
