Eric Church Says No To Ticket Scalpers
Eric Church revealed himself as being an all-around good guy this weekend. After determining that 902 of the tickets purchased for his September 16 Minneapolis show were up for resale by scalpers demanding extortionate prices from fans, Eric and his team cancelled those tickets, putting them back up for sale for fans who missed out the first time round.
Job well done
Demanding hundreds of dollars for a single ticket at a show in which more than 14,000 have already been sold (and the final few remaining located on the very upper levels behind the stage), Eric decided enough was enough with scalpers, who have long besmirched the name of the ticketing industry.
"A lot of acts just want to sell as many tickets as they can, and they don't care who they sell them to," Eric stated. "I want my fans to be the ones who buy tickets to my shows, and I want scalpers to back off. I can't stop ticket scalpers completely, but I can definitely make it harder for them."
Now, all ticket orders for the upcoming The Outsiders world tour will be scrutinized, and more possible cancellations could take place. If all artists were as considerate toward their fans as Eric is, the music industry would be just that little bit nicer. Well played dude.
