Eric Church Releasing 'Cold One' As New Single

Eric Church only hit #1 on country radio with 'Give Me Back My Hometown' last week, but he's already announced that the third single from his fourth studio album The Outsiders will be 'Cold One'. With a deceptively bro-country title, the song is actually an amusing look at the end of a relationship always being represented by his ex-girlfriend stealing one of his beers before she left, in the height of summer.

It's a little surprising as a single choice due to its experimental musicality, particularly from the chorus onwards, but it just goes to show that Eric isn't afraid to challenge country listeners' tastes, and also isn't afraid to make a statement with every release. The title cut from the latest record, for example, was the lead single, and consisted of a metal solo. He's also been known for a string of cryptic story videos to accompany this whole project.
